Does your organisation need volunteers?
vinvolved is the new national youth volunteering scheme, set up to inspire a new generation of 16-25 year olds to get involved in volunteering and community action. We are committed to enabling a lasting change in the quality, quantity and diversity of youth volunteering and want to get more volunteer-involving organisations on board.
What we can offer you
- Marketing- We can publicise your opportunities on The National Volunteering Database, www.do-it.org; we will promote your opportunities directly in schools, universities and youth clubs; acting as a brokerage service we can inform all volunteers registering with vinvolved of the opportunities within your organisation. Our ‘hot vacancy’ board ensures we are always able to promote urgent vacancies to our registered volunteers. To get started download the volunteer centre registration form in Microsoft Word or PDF formats
- Recruitment- As well as our brokerage service we can help by actively recruiting groups of volunteers for events and fundraising, or for one-off tasks such as revamping a garden area or decorating a play room. We can also support you with block recruitment of volunteers.
- Taster days- Why not let us bring a group of volunteers to a taster day where they can learn about your organisation and try volunteering with you.
- Retention- All of your youth volunteers are eligible to receive recognition of their work through a v accredited scheme. Here at the Volunteer Centre, we also offer the Youth Achievement Awards which will give your volunteers an incentive to give their best and their commitment.
- Before volunteering with you, our registered volunteers will be offered a ‘preparing to volunteer’ training session to ensure they are ready to get involved.
- Along with offering all organisations a ‘getting started’ guide to working with volunteers, we can help set up good practice policies, ensure you have the right insurance and help you create new opportunities to expand your service.
- All volunteer co-ordinators are invited to a regular co-ordinators forum; a networking opportunity and the chance to hear speakers on issues relating to your role
- Volunteer Centre Liverpool provides training and short courses on all aspects of working with volunteers and you are able to undertake an ‘Excellence in Volunteer Management’ course endorsed by the Institute of Leadership and Management. Our training manager can also deliver in-house training to your staff and to your volunteers.
