vinvolved residentials

vinvolved conservation residentials are a great way to volunteer.

If you are interested in the environment, want to try something different or just want to get involved, it could be for you!

What do we do?

We stay in National Trust basecamps in North Wales, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire or The Lake District and volunteer on whatever projects the National Trust are currently involved with. This means getting stuck into a variety of conservation tasks and can be physically hard work. So, if we are away Monday-Friday we leave Liverpool on Monday, volunteer Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and come back on Friday. If we are away for a weekend we leave Friday, volunteer Saturday and come home on Sunday. During the evenings when we aren’t volunteering we do other activities such as games, walks or bike rides!

Why do we do it?

Without volunteers the National Trust wouldn’t be able to look after the vast amount of land it owns in England and Wales. The trust hugely appreciate the value of volunteers and acknowledge that their work would be near impossible without the massive contribution they get from volunteers each year!

As well as the benefits to the Trust, there are loads of reasons why conservation residentials benefit you!

We will have more residential opportunities in 2010, dates will be confirmed soon so watch this article if you interested in getting involved!

More information can be found on each of the different basecamps we stay, in under the residentials menu on the left hand side.
