Help raise funds for the Haiti Appeal!

We have all seen the awful pictures of devastation in Haiti caused by the recent earthquake and you will also have heard some desperate stories from those caught up in the disaster. The British Red Cross is currently working together with 12 other leading UK aid agencies to raise money to help save lives and rebuild shattered communities through The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Haiti Earthquake Appeal.

The earthquake hit the capital Port-au-Prince and nearby areas. It is a densely populated area and the full extent of the devastation is not yet clear. But many have lost family, homes, livelihoods and essential services. The sheer scale of this disaster means a huge response is needed. The most urgent needs are search and rescue, hospital care, emergency health, clean water, emergency shelter, logistics and telecommunications.

How you can help?

The British Red Cross is holding fundraising collections in lots of stores across Merseyside and the rest of the UK and they need volunteers who can spare a couple of hours of their time to collect at one of the various supermarkets to raise money and help the people of Haiti.  Please see below a list of collections taking place.
